1) Maternity
Despite 98% of UK mothers wanting to return post-maternity leave, only 13% find full-time work viable.
We need to rethink this!
2) Flexibility
Returning to rigid work hours post-maternity isn’t feasible for many. How about transition periods with part-time schedules and remote working?
Flexibility is a must, not a luxury.
3) Equity
Missed promotions due to gender bias is a serious barrier.
It’s time we level the playing field and allow talent to shine, irrespective of gender.
4) Harassment
Policies and trainings aren’t enough.
A real culture of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) that promotes safety and holds everyone accountable is paramount.
5) Confidence
Women often underestimate their abilities, leading to what’s known as the “confidence gap.”
Encouraging a culture of visibility, recognition, and have real conversations that are confidence-building to pave the way for more women to step up.
6) Mentorship
Lack of access to mentors and sponsors can limit growth opportunities for women.
Implementing formal mentorship and sponsorship programs can help women advance in their careers.
7) Caregiving
Society often expects women to take on more caregiving duties, including elder care and child-rearing. This can be an additional burden on top of work responsibilities.
What would it look like if male partners shared that burden equally?
